A big part of my rebranding focuses on Sex Education through my art. I’m hoping for that to be a bigger project that teaches me some new skills, but until then I’d like to share some of my favourite Educators with you. If you are not a fan of the spaces I share them in please feel free to look for them elsewhere. They are on a variety of platforms sharing quality information.
Reid Mihalko
Website | Facebook | Twitter | Youtube
I had the pleasure of seeing Reid live and meeting him briefly at an event MacEwan University held for Pride Week. I went specifically because that particular discussion surrounded polyamory, but his Youtube and social posts contain a lot of great content on a broad spectrum of sex ed topics.
Sex Positive Families
Bio.fm | Website | IG (no longer in use, but full of great content to browse)
I recommend SPF to anyone who asks me about good Sex Ed content because the information is relevant to everyone. It’s still sex education, and it’s still helpful for individuals as adults for themselves as they break into learning for their own benefit, or maybe even their future kids or extended family. Their no-shame approach is also amazing if you’re looking to improve your habits or mindset.
Jill McDevitt
Jill is one of the first sex educators I ever followed. She was on Tumblr and running a store that was being mistreated in her town because of the content and product. She’s incredibly well-educated and even her fun posts teach me something.
Lindsay Braman
Linkin.bio | Website | IG
Lindsay is an amazing therapist with a wonderfully visual way of explaining her topics.
Casey Tanner
Casey is CEO of The Expansive Group, and Co-Host for Safeword Podcast. Honestly, all of their content is great, and revisiting them for this post introduced me to more of their content I didn’t know about yet!
Esther Perel
TBH Esther is iconic, and you might already know her name. She’s a therapist, a best selling author, she has a new card game out, and she has done several Tedtalks.
Angel Russell
Angel Russell is a great follow and source of information. Their husband recently passed at the time of this posting, so of course some of their current posts are a lot more personal, but their social media, website, and youtube are full of great posts.
Un|Hushed
Educational but also Shops
These are some shops I follow on IG that post a lot of good educational content on top of advertising. They take part in events like Masturbation Month by posting quality positive information and practices that can help you feel better about yourself.
